Actor Matthew Fox was held by police on Saturday after allegedly assaulting a woman outside a bar in Cleveland, Ohio.

The “Lost” star had attempted to board a party bus in Cleveland, Ohio but was confronted by the female driver. The Driver told Fox that he was not on the guest list and that he needed to leave. Fox then reportedly punched the woman in the breast and stomach area, and an off-duty police officer at the scene handcuffed Fox, according to TMZ.com.
UPDATE: According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the woman PUNCHED BACK - and struck Fox “in the mouth… causing a cuton his lip.”
Driver Heather Bormann reveals she had no choice but to strike the actor because he allegedly attacked her first. Speaking to TMZ.com, she says, “He just kept staring at me with his mouth wide open and not saying anything. I told him, ‘You have to leave, buddy. You are trespassing on my bus.’ (Then he) leaned in and started punching my crotch and breast.
“I took one hand to his jaw and he was spitting blood. He stumbled backwards. “This was my self-defense. This was the only way I could protect myself from a man beating up on a woman.” Bormann has plans to meet with prosecutors on Monday and will consider pressing charges.
Fox was detained by police after the encounter but the actor was not formally arrested. The woman told police she may have broken her hand when it contacted Fox’s mouth. Fox was later released to a friend…who put the actor into a taxi and accompanied him back to his hotel. Cops in Cleveland are still investigating the incident.
